- ❖ Introduction to ASEAN: 1 credit
- This course is an on-demand online lecture designed to provide foundational knowledge about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It focuses on ASEAN’s history, organization, economic community and systems, as well as its political and social roles. AsTW participants are expected to complete this course February 14-28, 2026.

- ❖ Area Studies (ASEAN): 2 credits
- The ASEAN Studies course offers a dynamic exploration of contemporary issues shaping the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. With a focus on pertinent topics such as human rights, climate change, indigenous rights, democracy, gender equality, and disability rights, this course provides students with a holistic understanding of ASEAN’s challenges and opportunities in the 21st century.

Credit Transfer
Kyushu University will issue an official document showing completed courses along with credits earned by AsTW participants. The official documents will be sent to each student by regular mail in April/May. Participants should consult their home universities about transferring credit and grades in advance.
Study Trips
Study trips will be held during the program. Each trip is planned in the expectation that students are able to experience some aspects of Vietnamese culture. The destinations vary and may include tours to Thai Hai Ecotourism Village and Duong Lam Ancient Village. Study trip fees are included in the program fee.
