ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW)～ASEANとアジア言語文化を学ぶ春季短期留学プログラム

AsTWは、九州大学とASEAN加盟国の有力大学が共同で開催する短期留学プログラムです。
ASEAN諸国を中心とする海外の大学からの参加者とともに、グループワークやフィールドトリップ、文化体験などを通して、ASEANや東アジア地域の社会課題や宗教、文化などについて学びます。授業はすべて英語で行なわれ、参加者同士のコミュニケーションにも英語が必要なため、英語力の向上にも有効なプログラムです。多様なバックグラウンドや異なる価値観を持つ同世代の仲間たちと意見交換を行い、互いの理解を深め、国際性を身につけることができます。

またAsTWは、ASEAN事務局により推奨されている教育プログラムです。ASEAN事務総長は、AsTWがASEANへの理解を広め、次世代のアジアの発展を担う人材育成に果たす役割に期待を寄せています。

ASEAN事務局長からのメッセージ

ASEAN today continues to realise the vision of its Founding Fathers and the aspirations of its peoples to live in peace, harmony, and prosperity. In this context, we recognize the important role of our youth as a catalyst for economic, social and cultural progress. We strive to instil in them a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, which is crucial for future ASEAN leaders.

In line with this, programmes such as ‘ASEAN in Today’s World’ are welcomed in strengthening ASEAN awareness among the peoples of the region, as well as in promoting a culture of peace and mutual understanding. To this end, I commend the ‘ASEAN in Today’s World’ initiative for enabling the region’s young people to get to know each other better while developing the knowledge and life skills they need to successfully navigate today’s world and the future.

The ASEAN Secretariat remains committed in promoting positive initiatives such as this, with a view towards increasing people-to-people interactions and mobility within and outside the ASEAN region.
