class=\"cell\">\n<p>The Japanese Language and Culture Course (JLCC) at Kyushu University is a short-term study abroad program that welcomes, for a period of 11 months, undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at universities outside Japan who specialize in Japanese language and culture.<\/p>\n<p>The course aims to enhance students\u2019 Japanese language proficiency, which is essential for pursuing further studies in Japanese studies, while deepening their understanding of Japanese society and culture.<\/p>\n<p>Through these studies, the program seeks to foster students\u2019 interest in and understanding of Japan and to develop individuals who, in their respective countries and regions, can contribute to promoting a deeper understanding of Japan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"shtb2 tbrsp\">\n<div class=\"cell\">\n<p>JLCC students are affiliated with the International Student Center.<\/p>\n<p>They take courses offered by the International Student Center, including Japanese Language and Linguistics, Japanese Culture and Society, Independent Study Project (ISP), Field Study, and Japanese Academic Courses (JACs).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, according to their field of specialization in Japanese studies and Japanese language proficiency, students can take undergraduate courses offered by various schools and through KIKAN Education Courses.<\/p>\n<p>Through these studies, students can pursue specialized and wide-ranging studies of Japanese society and culture.<\/p>\n  <div class=\"sng-box box4 University<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"shtb2 tbrsp\">\n<div class=\"cell\">\n<p>Kyushu University was founded in 1911 as Kyushu Imperial University. Since its establishment, the university has produced many outstanding individuals and continued to contribute significant research achievements to society for more than a century. Today, Kyushu University is one of Japan\u2019s leading comprehensive universities, with approximately 19,000 students, 2,100 faculty members, and 2,300 administrative staff members. The university comprises 12 undergraduate schools, 20 graduate schools, 4 research institutes, and a university hospital.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, Kyushu University celebrated its centennial anniversary. The university adopted as its basic philosophy the goal of \u201ccontinuing to reform itself, ensuring the quality of education on an international level, and becoming a dynamic center of world-class research and education that continuously takes on the challenges of the future.\u201d Under the action plan \u201c\u4e5d\u5927\u767e\u5e74\u3001\u8e8d\u9032\u767e\u5927,\u201d the university aims to advance into the world\u2019s top 100 universities in all fields.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, as Kyushu University is located in Fukuoka, the gateway to Kyushu, it is geographically and historically close to other parts of Asia. Since its foundation, the university has aimed to be \u201ca university open to Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese Language and Culture Course has been offered at the Ito Campus since the 2015 academic year.
