Students enrolled in this course are required to take classes offered by the International Student Center, such as \u201cIndependent Study Project (ISP),\u201d \u201cJapanese Language and Linguistics,\u201d and \u201cJapanese Culture and Society.\u201d In addition, students are required to complete elective courses that match their academic interests and Japanese language proficiency levels. These elective courses are offered by undergraduate schools such as Literature, Economics, and Law, as well as through KIKAN Education courses at Kyushu University. Today, the university comprises 12 undergraduate schools, 20 graduate schools, 4 research institutes, and a university hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 19,000 students, 2,100 faculty members, and 2,300 administrative staff members are engaged in education and research at Kyushu University. The university is located in Fukuoka, the gateway to Kyushu.<\/p>\n<p>Geographically and historically close to other parts of Asia, Kyushu University has aimed to be a university open to Asia since its foundation.
