Eligibility Criteria<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Applicants must fulfill all of the following conditions:<br \/>\n<div class=\"ol-circle li-mainbdr main-bc-before\">\n<ol>\n<li>In principle, be registered as undergraduates and majoring in Japanese studies at their home institution (first year students may not participate).<\/li>\n<li>Have completed Intermediate level Japanese language courses and be ready to take classes offered in Japanese at Kyushu University. Japanese Language and Culture Course\u3000is conducted in Japanese.<br \/>\n*Candidates will preferably have passed Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or possess the equivalent proficiency in Japanese language.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be enrolled in a formal degree program at the home university throughout the period of attendance at Kyushu University.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hh hh4 main-c main-bdr\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Application_Guidelines_Materials_Deadlines\"><\/span>2. Application Guidelines, Materials &amp; Deadlines<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>JLCC applicants are required to fill in the application form in Japanese.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"hh hh5 pastel-bc\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Japanese_Government_Monbukagakusho_MEXT_Scholarships_Japanese_Studies_Students\"><\/span>(1) Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho:MEXT) Scholarships (Japanese Studies Students)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"ol-circle li-mainbdr main-bc-before list-raw\">\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Through recommendation by a Japanese Embassy<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to foreign students to study for a period of one year at designated Japanese universities in order to deepen their understanding of the Japanese language, affairs and culture. The process is different from one country to another. Please consult the Japanese Embassy or General Consulate in your country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Through recommendation by your home university<\/strong><br \/>\nIf your home university has concluded a student exchange agreement, that includes a tuition waiver clause, with Kyushu University, it\u2019s possible to apply the MEXT Scholarships after the screening at Kyushu University. Tuition &amp; Tuition Waivers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>JLCC students need to pay a tuition fee, an admission fee and an examination fee as below.<\/p>\n  <div class=\"sng-box box4 main-bdr\">\nA) Tuition Fee: 29,700yen (monthly fee)<br \/>\nB) Admission Fee: 84,600yen<br \/>\nC) Examination Fee: 9,800yen<br \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"li-mainbdr li-pastelbc strong\">\n<ol>\n<li>If you are nominated by your home university as an exchange student under a student exchange agreement that includes a tuition waiver clause with Kyushu University, you will be exempt from paying all fee above.<\/li>\n<li>If your application is recommended by Japanese Embassy, you will be exempt from paying tuition fee at Kyushu University.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hh hh4 main-c main-bdr\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Scholarship\"><\/span>5.
