Eligibility Requirements<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:<br \/>\n<div class=\"ol-circle li-mainbdr main-bc-before\">\n<ol>\n<li>Applicants must be enrolled at a university outside Japan and, in principle, be undergraduate students majoring in Japanese studies (excluding first-year students at the time of participation in the course).<\/li>\n<li>The Japanese Language and Culture Course is conducted entirely in Japanese, and all classes and related activities are carried out in Japanese. Applicants must have completed intermediate-level Japanese language study and possess sufficient Japanese proficiency to take courses on Japanese society and culture offered in Japanese at Kyushu University. Applicants are expected to have Japanese language proficiency equivalent to approximately Level N1 of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must remain enrolled at their home university until completion of the course.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hh hh4 main-c main-bdr\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Application_Procedures_Required_Documents_and_Deadlines\"><\/span>2. For further details, please contact the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General in your country directly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applying through University Recommendation<\/strong><br \/>\nIf your home university has concluded a university-level student exchange agreement with Kyushu University and has agreed to tuition and other fee waivers, you may apply for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship (Japanese Studies Student) through University Recommendation after undergoing the selection process at Kyushu University. Tuition Fees and Fee Waivers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>JLCC students are required to pay the following tuition, admission, and examination fees:<\/p>\n  <div class=\"sng-box box4 main-bdr\">\nA) Tuition Fee: JPY 29,700 per month<br \/>\nB) Admission Fee: JPY 84,600<br \/>\nC)Examination Fee: JPY 9,800<br \/>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, all of the above fees will be waived if either of the following conditions applies:<\/p>\n<div class=\"li-mainbdr li-pastelbc strong\">\n<ol>\n<li>Your home university has concluded an inter-university student exchange agreement with Kyushu University, and you participate in this program as an exchange student under the agreement.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"hltwpp\" data-start=\"332\" data-end=\"492\">You have been selected by the Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology [MEXT]) as a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Student in the \u201cJapanese Studies Students\u201d category, and Kyushu University has approved your acceptance into the program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hh hh4 main-c main-bdr\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Scholarships\"><\/span>5.
